1. Introduction

Agronomy (Agricultural Science) is a discipline that studies crop production related fields, including crop growth and development law and the relationship with external environment condition, disease and insect pest control, soil and nutrition, cropping system, genetic breeding etc. Agriculture is a science that studies the natural law and the economic law of agricultural development, and it is integrated with agriculture environment, crop and animal production, agricultural engineering, agricultural economy and so on. Forestry science and fisheries science are sometimes included in a broad range of agricultural science.

3. Training Objectives

Agronomy program cultivates senior scientific and technical personnel with the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills of crop production, crop genetics and breeding and seed production and management, can be engaged in agriculture and other related departments or units for agriculture related technology and design, promotion and development, operation and management, teaching and scientific research.

4. Training Requirements

The students mainly study the basic theory and basic knowledge of agricultural biological science, agricultural ecology, crop growth and development and law of inheritance, receive basic training in crop production and crop new variety breeding, with the basic ability of crop breeding, crop cultivation and farming, seed production and testing.

The main practical teaching: including teaching practice, production practice, curriculum design, graduation thesis (graduation design), research and training, production labor, social practice, the general arrangement is not less than 30 weeks.
