Beijing Institute of Electronic Science and Technology is an ordinary university that trains professionals in information security and office automation for party and government organs at all levels in the country. (1) History
The predecessor of the school was a training class of young cadres at the Central Committee of the Industrial Commission opened in Pingshan County, Hebei province in August 1947. It was renamed to Nanjing machine school, Beijing machine school, Xuanhua machine school, and Beijing electronic school in 1981; In 1992, it was upgraded to Beijing Electronics Science and Technology Institute; In 1993, Amateur University of Zhongnanhai was incorporated into Beijing Electronics Science and Technology Institute. In 2003, the Ministry of Education approved the Institute and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology to jointly set master's degree in cryptography graduate work. As of September 2014, there are 5 colleges which are respectively the Department of Information Security, Department of Electronic Information Engineering, Department of computer Science and Technology, Department of Communication Engineering, management Department, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Teaching and 8 undergraduate majors. The school has a faculty of professors, researchers, associate professors, associate researchers and doctors, masters and so on, and has a strong teaching and research force. Nearly 20 prominent contributors enjoy a special subsidy from the State Council. The main building consists of more than 10 multi-functional multimedia classrooms, the teaching building and the teaching center, the library, the cultural and artistic center, the student apartment, and the integrated service building of catering, service and entertainment. As of June 2018, the College has an information security laboratory, an electronic technology laboratory, a computer foundation and application laboratory, a communications engineering laboratory, and an information management and information system laboratory.
