China Agricultural University Library (CAUL) is one of the most important libraries in agricultural education and research in China. The collections include both paper documents numbering more than 1.7 million volumes and over 1.47 million electronic documents. The collections emphasize agricultural science, biology and agricultural engineering. Both basic and applied researches are conducted at China Agricultural University, covering a broad area in agricultural sciences and beyond. The majority of research programs are oriented and tailored to meet the national needs for economic and social development, and centered on their potential utilization and the practical significance for the nation’s social and economic development. China Agricultural University embraces three key national laboratories, four national research centers, 18 key ministerial laboratories, six ministerial research centers, plus a number of CAU research centers. CAU has, up to date, signed All-round Cooperation Agreement with eight provinces/municipalities/autonomous regions.

4. China Agricultural University Achievement

China Agricultural University has won dozens of prizes including: a) a State Special Prize in Science and Technology Improvement; b) other 36 Prizes at national level; and c) 206 Prizes at ministerial/provincial level. These technologies have been widely applied throughout the country with great success in terms of technological advancement, economical efficiency/return and social development. On average annually a hundred of new technologies and research achievements are transferred and extended nationwide with nearly a thousand of counties benefited. China Agricultural University has five disciplines, i.e. Agricultural Science, Plant and Animal Science, Biology and Biochemistry, Environmental Science, and Chemistry, have been listed as top 1% of disciplines in the world by ESI.

5.  Communication and international cooperation

China Agricultural University has cooperative programs with 207 universities in 44 countries, such as United States, Canada, Germany, Britain, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Korea, Australia, Russia, Israel, Ivory Coast, Guinea and etc. In recent years, CAU focus on the cooperation with many top international universities, and has successfully made partnership with Purdue University in the United States, Wageningen University in Netherlands and many others. We have undergraduate programs, exchange programs, international master programs and series of international education cooperation projects. Meanwhile China Agricultural University has established research centers with many high-level universities, and put special fund to support research projects. China Agricultural University has made good cooperation with many African high-level education institutions. We conscientiously implement the “China-Africa University 20+20 Projects”, and also established the “one-to-one” inter-school cooperation model.
