Laboratory Diagnosis mainly inspects the patient's blood, body fluids, secretions, excretions, tissues and cells by using the experimental techniques and methods of physics, chemistry and biology, by means of sense organs, reagent response, instrument analysis and animal experiment, to obtain the objective data reflecting body functional state, pathological changes and causes
I. Program in Brief
The Program of Medical Technology/Laboratory Medicine is a specialty of medical technology developed by integrating modern clinical medicine with laboratory science and technology. As an important branch of clinical medicine, laboratory medicine, by using modern instruments and experimental means, is to analyze and study cell morphology and structure, biological molecular changes and laws in metabolism, structure and function of cells, in vivo immunity, microorganisms, chemical changes in biochemical and active ingredients, to detect activity status and laws of changes of pathogenic organisms in human body, and to understand the etiology and pathogenesis of diseases under normal physiological or various diseased conditions of human body to provide a scientific basis for pathological and clinical diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. With the advent of the genomic medicine era, clinicians increasingly rely on medical tests to provide them with richer, more efficient, accurate and trustworthy data and information. As a result, laboratory medicine has evolved from relying on diagnostic technologies to comprehensive technologies that involve health assessment, disease prediction, risk assessment and efficacy evaluation.
II. Training Objectives
The Program is aimed at cultivating professionals of applied laboratory medicine with noble character, solid academic foundation and proficient skills who are comprehensively developed in moral, intellectual, and physical aspects.
