1. Introduction
Oral Histopathology includes two parts: the oral histology and embryology and oral pathology. Oral histology and embryology mainly represents structure and morphological features of different oral tissues and the development process of oral and maxillofacial; oral pathology represents the pathogeny, pathogenesis, pathological changes and clinical features of common diseases in oral and maxillofacial. Understand the regularity of occurrence and development of oral disease and prognosis, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of clinical oral diseases.
2. Study Content
Oral Histopathology contains oral histology and embryology and oral pathology, mainly illustrating the organizational structure of the tooth tissue, periodontal tissue, oral mucosa, salivary glands, temporomandibular joint, oral and maxillofacial and dental development and developmental abnormalities, caries, dental pulp disease, apical periodontal disease, periodontal disease, oral mucosal disease, jaw and joint disease, salivary gland disease, oral and maxillofacial cyst, odontogenic tumor, salivary gland tumor histopathology manifestations.
3. Training Objectives
Through learning oral histopathology, grasp the development process of oral and maxillofacial and teeth, and master the etiology, pathological mechanism, pathological changes and clinical features of common diseases in oral and maxillofacial. Be familiar with all kinds of routine test methods. Understand new branches, such as immune pathology, ultrastructural pathology, experimental pathology and molecular pathology and so on. Cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking and clinical practice ability to lay the foundation for the future clinical diagnosis and scientific research methods.
