Beihang University is qualified to admit all categories of international students. Since the 1990s, Beihang University has been one of the few universities in China that uses English as the primary medium of instruction for all its international master and doctoral programs. It also offers many bachelor degree programs in English. By the end of 2008 over 800 international students were enrolled and some of them got their degrees at BUAA. The International School was established in 2004 to cater to the development of International education in BUAA.
International School of Beihang University is responsible for developing educational programs and extracurricular activities for international students. The office is in charge of applications, entry examinations, admissions, registration, and the study and daily life of international students. The International School not only offers the master’s, doctoral and bachelor degree programs, but also provides long and short Chinese training programs, professional training courses, summer school in space technology, and many other specialized programs to meet the increasing demands of international education.
Today BUAA has 668 international students who are studying for different degrees in English taught programs. According to the laws, international students coming to China for study should use student's visa for entrance and use that visa to get residence permit within 30 days after entry.
