Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) offers limited on-campus student dorms, most international students still like to choose off-campus accommodation, since they have much more freedom and privacy. It is also more convenient for them to cook at home or make friends or family stay overnight. Based on this, we offer several types of accommodation for students to meet different needs. All off-campus accommodation is usually within 10 minutes on walk from the university.
Option 1: On campus Dorms
BLCU offers limited on-campus dorms for international students. Student Dorms offer a rich cultural experience, and are great places to meet many people from all over the world.
Single Room: TV, phone (Phone bill is not included), air-conditioner, fridge, shower, closet
Double Room: Phone (Phone bill is not included), TV, fridge, air-conditioner, shower, closet
Option 2: Home stay
Home stay is the preferred accommodation choice for those students wanting a unique opportunity to get firsthand experience into the Chinese culture and way of life. Daily contact with the host family will likely enhance your Chinese language skills as well. In addition to getting your own room, you are also provided with two meals a day (usually breakfast and dinner).
Host families are carefully selected based on several criterions: comfort and cleanliness of home environment, proximity of home to university, income of family, type of meals provided, and educational background.
Each room is furnished with new and modern furniture, including a bed, desk, chair and closet. A storage area may also be provided for the student to store personal belongings. Electricity, gas, water and two meals are included in the accommodation.
Option 3: Student Residence (Conference Centre)
On-campus Student Residence offers more privacy than student dorms. Each student studio has one bedroom, private bathroom with 24 hours hot water, and a kitchenette. Each residence has one single bed, desk, chairs, telephone, TV, and air conditioning. Electricity and water are included in the accommodation. Cost of outgoing telephone calls is to be paid by the individual. Washing machines are located on each floor. The everyday breakfast is included in the student residence.
Option 4: Shared Apartments
Modern and spacious shared apartments comprise of 2 to 3 bedrooms, a living and dining room, kitchen, and bathroom with 24 hours hot water. Each bedroom consists of a bed, desk, chair and closet. The living room area has a sofa, coffee table, TV, and DVD player. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, along with a washing machine. There is a table and chairs in the dining area. Telephone, internet access, and air-conditioning are available. Electricity, gas, water and telephone calls are to be paid by the individuals.
Option 5: Private Apartments
Private apartments are modern, and though a little smaller than shared apartments they are still quite spacious. Each private apartment has a bedroom, a living and dining room, kitchen, and bathroom with 24 hours hot water. The bedroom is furnished with a bed, desk, chair and closet. The living room area has a sofa, coffee table, TV, and DVD player. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, along with a washing machine. There is a table and chairs in the dining area. Telephone, internet access, and air-conditioning are available. Electricity, gas, water and telephone calls are to be paid by the individual.
Option 6: Premium Apartments
These modern and spacious 1-bedroom apartments all come fully furnished. Each apartment has a living and dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The living area includes a lounge, dining area, desk, chairs, TV, DVD, and washing machine. High-speed internet access and telephone are also available in the apartment. The bedroom has a nice queen-size bed and storage area for clothes and personal belongings. A refrigerator, microwave and basic cooking utensils are available in the kitchen. Students living in premium apartments have all utilities paid for including water, gas, electricity and high-speed internet. Moreover, the weekly cleaning services are also included in the premium apartments. These units are among the nicest living accommodations in the university district.
