China Conservatory of Music is the highest learning institution in China in education and study in Chinese music and specializes in training talents in performing, making and researching Chinese music. China Conservatory of Music was founded in September 21, 1964, form the idea of the principals espoused by Premier Zhou Enlai. The China Conservatory of Music of Music was initially established in 1956 by the merger of the art and music departments of Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University and Northeast Normal University. To further the development of international exchange, the China Conservatory of Music of Music has established working relationships and exchange programs with music institutions in various countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea, United States, Canada, France, Germany, Britain, Austria, and Australia. Each year, the conservatory invites over ten scholars and musicians to give lectures and master classes, and regularly sends its own professors and students abroad to teach and perform. In 1993, China Conservatory of Music began to recruit foreign students who come to China to study. Since then hundreds of foreign students from all over the world have been trained at the conservatory.
