Admission at China University of Petroleum (Huadong) for International Education
Bachelor Degree/Undergraduate Programs in English Medium
UPC admits foreign students in 11 specialties taught in English: Petroleum engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation, Project Administration, Prospecting Technology & Engineering, Resource Prospecting Engineering, Computer Science & Technology, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Geology
1. Qualification for applicant
1. The applicant should be under the age of 25.
2. The passport should be in a validity of over 48 months.
3. Applicants who apply for English taught programs should provide TOEFL iBT score of at least 60 points at least, or IELTS score at least 5.0, or the relevant certificates of English as the working and learning language for high school study.
4. If you cannot provide the language proficiency certificate, you have to sit in our entrance exams.
5. The applicant should graduate from high school.
6. High School graduates who do not have science subjects/courses background cannot apply for science or engineering Bachelor’s Degree programs.
7. The applicant should be in good health.

5. Recommendation letters by two of your high school teachers.
6. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner
7. If you have graduated for 12 or over 12 months when you submit your applications, you must provide Non-Criminal Record which is issued from your residential police station.
8. Any certificate that will make your application strong, like the certificates of your ever earned scholarships or awards.
3. Duration and tuition Fees:
All undergraduate programs at China University of Petroleum (Huadong) take 4 years.
Tuition fees are 15000 - 20,000CNY/YEAR

Master Degree/Postgraduate/PG Programs in English Medium
UPC master program has different options taught in English including Oil-Gas Well Engineering, Oil-Gas Field Development Engineering, and Oil and Natural Gas Engineering.
1. Qualification for applicant
1. Applicants for Master’s programs should be under the age of 30/35.
2. The passport should be in a validity of over 36 months.
3. Applicants who apply for English taught programs should provide TOEFL iBT score of at least 60 points at least, or IELTS score at least 5.0, or the relevant certificates of English as the working language or learning language for university study. If you cannot provide the language proficiency certificate, you have to sit in our entrance exams.
4. Possess Bachelor degree and your previous major should be related to the programs which you apply for.

2. Language proficiency certificate
3. Scan copy of Bachelor degree with transcript. When the Diploma/Degree and the score report/transcripts are neither in Chinese nor English, you should provide its notarized Chinese or English translated documents.
4. Research and study plan in China (1500 words at least), written in Chinese or English
5. Recommendation letters by two professionals with the title of professors or associate professors
6. Physical Examination Record
7. If you have graduated for 12 or over 12 months when you submit your applications, you must provide Non-Criminal Record which is issued from your residential police station.

3. Study Duration &Tuition Fee:
Master degree takes 3 years in all programs.
A tuition fee is 24,000 CNY/YEAR for students in all the Majors.

Doctorate program at UPC admits international students in English taught courses which lead to doctorate degree including Theory of Marxism, Chemistry, Geology, Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Dynamical Engineering and Thermophysics Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Oil and Natural Gas Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Computer Technology and Resource of Information Engineering, Oil and Gas Well Engineering, Oil and Gas Field Development Project, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering, Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering
