Chongqing Technology and Business University, located in Chongqing, is a multi-disciplinary university that offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. courses, mainly in economics, management, arts, literature, engineering, law and science. 1.History
Chongqing Technology and Business University was originally founded in 1952 named as Chongqing mechatronic Industrial School. And in 1975, the university changed its name as Chongqing Second Machinery Industry School. Yuzhou University was established in 1978. Chongqing Second Machinery Industry School was merged into Yuzhou University and the new Yuzhou University was established. Chongqing Institute of Commerce was founded in 1962. In January 18, 2002, Chongqing Institute of Commerce combined with Yuzhou University and Chongqing Technology and Business University was established.
2. Discipline and Programs
Chongqing Technology and Business University consists of 22 schools that offer one post-Doctoral degree program; one first-level doctoral degree program in Applied Economics and five second-level doctoral degree programs; 8 first-level master’s degree programs in category disciplines in regional economics, business management, environmental engineering, accounting, statistics, industrial economics, ideological and political education, and media and 51 second-level master’s degree programs as well as 71 bachelor’s degrees programs. More than 30,000 students are currently studying at Chongqing Technology and Business University.
3. Academic Facilities and Scientific Research
Chongqing Technology and Business University has a strong faculty, with over 2100 professors, teachers and support staff. More than 600 are associate and full professors, among whom 23 are recipients of the Special State Council Allowance. On the campus eleven national and provincial/ministerial level research institutes have been set up, including “Research Center of the Economy of the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River”, “Engineering Research Center for Waste Oil Recovery Technology and Equipment, Ministry of Education” and “Chongqing Key Lab of E-Business and Supply Chain System”. The library in the university has the collection of 3.3318 million volumes.
4. Great Achievement
Chongqing Technology and Business University has undertaken over 4000 research projects of various types at different levels in recent years, including 170 research projects in national level and1500 research projects in Provincial and ministerial level. Chongqing Technology and Business University won provincial/ministerial awards for over 130 projects, such as second prize of national scientific and technological progress and fist prize of scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Education. More than 340 national patents have been granted at Chongqing Technology and Business University.
5. Communication and International Cooperation
Chongqing Technology and Business University attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchange. It has established ties with more than 70 foreign universities and organizations in 23 countries and regions. Joint-degree programs of bachelors and masters have been initiated together with over ten well-known foreign universities including University of Lincoln in UK and Université Toulouse 1 in France and HEC Montreal in Canada.
