Applicants who incline to study in Chongqing University of Science & Technology for at least one year are qualified to apply for one of the following scholarships: CQUST President Scholarship and Chongqing Municipal Government scholarship.
CQUST President Scholarship for Overseas Students
1. Qualifications of Applicants:
A. Basic requirements of applying for CQUST President Scholarship
(1)The applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
(2) The applicant should promise to obey Chinese laws and regulations as well as rules of CQUST.
(3) The applicants couldn’t apply for the President Scholarship while he/she has gotten other Chinese Government Scholarship
(4) The age of applicant should be under 40
B. Qualifications for Applying CQUST President Scholarship
(1) The applicants who incline to study in CQUST for more than one year (Type I)
(2) Those who have been studying in CQUST for more than one year intend to keep studying in CQUST (Type II)
2. Required Application Materials
The following application materials are needed according to different Types.
Type I
(1) Application Form;
(2)Scan copy of Academic Record of the latest year (officially verified only);
(3)Scan copy of Diploma or Certificate (officially verified only);
(4)Scan copy of two letters of recommendation by two professors or associate professors;
(5)Scan copy of Studying Plan;
(6)Scan copy of Articles or Papers Published;
(7)Scan copy of the physical examination issued.
Type II
(1)Two Letters of Recommendation by two professors or associate professors;
(2)Studying Plan;
(3)Articles or Papers Published.
Chongqing Municipal Government scholarship
1. Basic Information
Suitable Students: Freshmen or students at school
Number of scholarship available: 20-30
2. Criteria & Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.
2. Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma with good academic performance and be under the age of 25.
- Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

3. Scan copy of highest diploma (University students or applicants employed shall also provide proof of studying or employment on application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English)
4. Scan copy of academic transcripts (Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English).
5. Scan copy of recommendation letters (only for postgraduate studies, or study in China as senior scholars)
6. Scan copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take medical examination due to the 6-months validity of the medical results.)
7. Scan copy of a study or research plan (It must be in Chinese or in English. Undergraduate applicants are required to submit a study or research plan of no less than 200 words, and no less than 800 words for graduate applicants.)
8. Scan copy of articles or papers written or published.
