Guangxi University of Finance and Economics is the only financial-economical university in Guangxi province. It institutes a variety of educations including professional training, undergraduate, adult education, education for students from abroad, etc. Located in an ideal environment for higher education, it possesses not only perfect modern facilities but also a team of highly qualified staff members.
(1) History
Guangxi University of Finance and Economics is located in Nanning, the capital of Gaungxi. The university’s predecessor is Guangxi Business College and Guangxi finance and economics school. In May,2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, Guangxi Business College and Guangxi finance and economics school combined into Guangxi University of Finance and Economics. In 2011, the school seized the opportunity, successfully declared "program of serve national special needed talents’ training ", and became a training unit of accounting in master degree. In 2014, the university approved the first batch of "2011 Collaborative Innovation Center" in Guangxi.
(2) Campus overview
Guangxi University of Finance and Economics has three campus: Mingxiu campus, Xiangsihu campus and Fangchenggang campus, covering an area of 2008 acres. The university has 14 College (Department), 1 School of continuing education and 3 teaching institutions, 25 scientific research institutions. It also has many bachelor degrees, covering Economics, management, literature, law, science, engineering and art, etc.
(3) Scientific research
In 2011, Guangxi University of Finance and Economics became the first training unit of accounting in master degree in Guangxi. It has erolled 4 groups of students and helped them successfully passed the mid-term examination. The school has 5 provincial key laboratory (Research Center), 6 autonomous district science and technology innovation platform. It obtained more than 1200 research projects, including 67 national projects, 1 major projects of national social science fund, 1 National Social Science Foundation key project and 269 provincial scientific research projects. It obtained 79 scientific research awards.
(4) Communication and international cooperation
Guangxi University of Finance and Economics adheres to open education in an international vision, and actively expands and strengthens exchanges and cooperation with universities from the United States, Britain, France, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and other countries. It has 7 foreign cooperative education project, 2 ACCA international accounting experimental class. It has qualification of independent organizing ACCA test and receives foreign students to participate in the exam.
