Guizhou Medical University implements standard schooling system and credit system management for medical undergraduate education (teaching in English) of China for international students. In the compulsory courses of MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program, there are 48 (48 weeks) credits for internship in the last year. The objective of internship is to enable the students to obtain normative clinical skills, excellent professional quality, and be able to have an effective international medical practice under the guidance of superior doctor on the basis of solid knowledge; become the independent international practitioners with certain international competitiveness in the future and adapt to the international medical talent market demand through after-college education and vocational training.
After the 5 year studying in Guizhou Medical University, final year MBBS students can do internship in one of GMU’s affiliated hospitals or in their home countries. The Affiliated Hospital of GMU undertakes the heaviest patients flow and the most sophisticated medical care services in Guizhou province. With the total 5 affiliated hospitals, 7 collaborating hospitals, 1 collaborating clinic medicine school. 23 teaching hospitals and 15 training hospitals, GMU is confident to offer abundant clinic experience for MBBS undergraduates.
The Affiliated Hospital of GMU is on the opposite side of the street of the GMU main campus, which is convenient for students for internship.
The one year's MBBS internship or rotation will cover some practice in the subjects or departments of hospitals in many medical branches to ensure international students to master clinical skills in vocational training and independent medical practice.
