Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province, with a population of 7.57 million is located between the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, nearest to the coastal cities (like Shanghai) in eastern China, and beside the Chaohu Lake. It is a central-China city.

Anhui Province
Anhui Province, shorted as Wan, is located in East China, on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Huai River with both rivers running through. It is in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta. Anhui covers an area of 139.4 thousand square kilometers with a population of 60.829 million by the end of 2014. Hefei is the capital. Anhui Province borders six provinces: Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, and Henan.
Various landforms present in Anhui Province with the general topography of high in the southwest and low in the northeast. Mountains and hills cover two thirds of the total area. The climate here is warm and moist, and the four seasons are distinct as Anhui is located in the transitional area between temperate zone and subtropical zone.
