Liaoning Technical University is located in Fuxin, Liaoning, China, administered by the provincial government and State Administration of Work Safety. Liaoning Technical University is a key national university with a history of more than 60 years. In 1978, Liaoning Technical University was acknowledged as one of the 88 key universities by the State Council. It was granted the authority of accepting International students (one of 200 national universities) and conferring Master and Doctor Degrees in 1981 and 1993 respectively. In 1999, Liaoning Technical University set up post-doctoral working station.
(1) History
In 1949 Founding of “Fuxin Mining Secondary Technical School”, later changed to “Fuxin Senior Engineering Vocational School”. In 1952, Liaoning Technical University changed its name to Fuxin Mine Industry Technical School. In 1954 Liaoning Technical University changed its name to Fuxin Colliery School. In 1961 Fuxin Colliery College was founded, merging with Fushun Colliery College, Liaoning Colliery Normal College and Jixi Mining College. In 1978 Liaoning Technical University changed its name to Fuxin Mining College. In 1996 Liaoning Technical University changed its name to Liaoning Technical University. In 1999 Liaoning Technical University was approved to establish post-doctoral scientific research exchange station.
(2) Discipline and programs
Liaoning Technical University has become a famous university which has outstanding school-running features, perfect facilities, abundant qualified teachers and multiple disciplines of engineering, management, science, economy, art, law, agriculture, and education, etc. Liaoning Technical University boasts 23 faculties, and offers 117 undergraduate and senior vocational programs. Now the university has 4 post-doctoral stations (mining engineering, mechanics engineering and surveying technology & science, Safety science & engineering), 25 majors for doctoral degree programs, 78 majors for Master degree and one national key discipline. At present, there are more than 42000 Chinese students and 269 international students enrolled at Liaoning Technical University.

At present, Liaoning Technical University more than 1700 full-time teachers, more than 1000 professors and associate professors, 4 double-employed academicians. Liaoning Technical University has one big library with a collection of more than 1.1 million books and 2,000 Chinese and foreign language periodicals. There are one national model teaching center, 1 national safety technology research center, 13 provincial key laboratories, and ten Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centers.
(4) Great achievements
Liaoning Technical University has undertaken all kinds of 3500 items of research projects including national "863", "973" project, State Spark-Program, National Natural Science Funds and National Key Research Programs. Among all, there are more than 240 awards of achievements at national and provincial level; including six items projects get State Scientific and Technological Progress Award and National Natural Science Awards. Liaoning Technical University has more than 80 teaching achievements getting national and Liaoning provincial excellent teaching achievement award. In 2014, the amount of research funding reached 398 million.
(5) Communication and international cooperation
Liaoning Technical University always adheres to the way of internationalization, and open-minded education. The university successively established close intercollegiate contact and academic exchange relations with many colleges, universities and research institutes of more than 10 countries, like the United States, Russia, Vietnam, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Japan, and so on. Liaoning Technical University also signed cooperation agreements in running schools with Vietnam Coal Mining Industry Group and overseas universities as Queensland university in Australia, Pretoria University in South Africa, Berlin Industrial University in Germany, and Akita University in Japan. We exchanged experts, scholars, and students to conduct academic exchanges and cooperation in scientific research and hired world-renowned scholars as honorary professors.
