1. Brief Introduction
Tangshan, is a century-old industrial city in Hebei province. It is a coastal city lying in the central part of Bohai gulf area. Being closed Bohai in South, Yanshan in North, Qinhuangdao in East as well as Beijing and Tianjin in West, Tangshan is a key point and an important corridor that connect North China and Northeast districts. Tangshan is one of the central cities in Hebei province and one of the large cities in China, as well as an important economic center and foreign portal in the North of China. It is also an important shipping and logistics center in the Northeast of Asia. It was awarded the United Nations Habitat Scroll of Honor in 1990 and held the World Horticultural Exposition in 2016.
2. Long History, Splendid Culture and Historical Places of Interest
Tangshan has a long history of more than 30,000 years. In 645 AD, Li Shimin, the emperor of Tang Dynasty, gave the name “Tang”, in commemoration of his wife.
As an ancient Chinese city and a traditional trading center, Tangshan maintains abundant cultural heritages that reflect its glorious history as well as the culture of ancient China. There are many historical sites in Tangshan, such as Melon Village site, Meng Guquan site and Taesongsan site, which prove the historical development of Tangshan. Famous scenic spots like the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and the Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty attract more and more people come to Tangshan.
3. Economy
Tangshan is a coastal heavy industrial city with a history of more than one hundred years. It is an economic center of Hebei province and one of the city with best development prospects in the future. In addition, it is an important part of the beijing-tianjin-hebei metropolitan area. It’s also a famous modern ecological city and an international port city, being known as the North Shenzhen.
The industries in Tangshan has formed 10 pillar industries: coal, steel, electricity, building materials, machinery, chemical, ceramics, textile, papermaking and logistics. Mechanical and electrical integration, electronic information, biological engineering and new materials, those four new and high-tech industrial groups are developing at top speed. As an national important industrial base of energy and raw materials, Tangshan now has a large number of big and high-tech superior enterprises, including Kailuan, Tang steel, Jidong cement, Rolling stock, Sanyou soda and Tangshan ceramics.

Tangshan Sannuhe Airport is located in Fengrun district of Tangshan, about 20km (12.4 mi) from the center of Tangshan. It has 3 long distance air routes: Shanghai, Guangzhou and Kunming, and 2 short distance air routes: Shijiazhuang and Yantai.

Tangshan has two railway stations: Tangshan station and Tangshan North station.

Tangshan has a semi-humid monsoon climate in the warm temperate zone, and shows a obvious characteristic of continental climate. 2,600 to 2,900 hours of sunshine throughout the year, the city has an annual average temperature of 12.5 °C (54.5 °F). Due to its mild climate, fertile soil and diversity of landscapes, Tangshan is an enrichment region of a variety of agricultural and sideline products, being called “ the Jingdong Treasure-ground”.
