North University of China (NUC) is located in Taiyuan City, the capital of Shanxi Province and famous historical and cultural city in China. The university also has a campus in Shuozhou City. 1. History
North University of China (NUC) is a multidisciplinary teaching and research university jointly built by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence and under the administration of Shanxi Provincial People's Government. The predecessor of the university was the Taihang Industrial School built in 1941, and was renamed as North University of China approved by the Ministry of Education in June, 2004 after Taiyuan Institute of Machinery, North China Institute of Technology.

NUC consists of 16 schools and colleges, and is authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to offer 23 PhD programs, 63 Master programs and 80 Bachelor programs. 2 426 staff members are working at NUC, including 8 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Full time students enrollment stands at over 30 000, including 3 000 PhD and Master Candidates. NUC graduates are highly acclaimed by both employers and society at large.

North University of China (NUC) houses State, Provincial, or Ministerial key laboratories, bases, research centers, and National University Science Park. Ever since 2006, NUC has been undertaking over 3 800 research projects from the state or enterprises, and the fund for scientific research and technological development has reached 2.4 billion CNY. NUC has achieved tremendous accomplishments in a great number of research projects, some of which have won high-level awards, including 5 Second Prizes of National Award for Science & Technology and 108 Provincial Awards for Science & Technology.
5. Communication and International Cooperation
In order to accelerate educational internationalization, North University of China (NUC) has set up College of International Education (CIE) in 2013, CIE will open to students home & abroad experimental classes in Computer Science, Material Engineering, Economics, Management, Music over the next few years. By means of promoting exchange & cooperation at multi-levels and in broad fields with over 90 overseas universities, CIE will also develop such programs as faculty visit, student exchange, credit transfer, dual degree & joint degree, endeavoring to improve steadily the internationally educational level, and help build NUC into a high-level teaching & research-oriented university with significant influence and distinctive features.
