Shanghai Government Scholarships
Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must:
1) Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
2) Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
3) Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
4) Be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for bachelor’s programs.
5) be excellent in academic and extra-curricular performance and yet not be rewarded any other scholarships offered by Chinese government, institutes or organizations.
Materials:
(1)Application Form
(2)Scan copy of Degree certificate, diploma or official proof of expected graduation (the diploma or certificate must be in Chinese or English with official school stamps or a notarized version in Chinese or English)
(3)Scan copy of Relevant transcripts (transcripts must be in Chinese or English with official school stamps or a notarized version in Chinese or English)
(4)Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English)
(5)Passport and passport-sized photo
(6)Statement of purpose - Around 1000 words for master’s degree candidates; around 1500 words for doctoral candidates. Topics to cover: study and work experience, academic research results, planned research proposals and personal development objectives after graduation
(7)Catalogue and abstracts of published papers, as well as other documents that can prove academic ability
