Brief Introduction
Shenyang Pharmaceutical University is a university with glorious, revolutionary traditions that have brought it to prominence as one of the only two comprehensive pharmaceutical universities in all of China. It was born at Ruijin in the province of Jiangxi in 1931. Shenyang Pharmaceutical University occupied an area of 637,000 square meters and an architectural area of 368,000 square meters and possesses a staff of 1141. A new campus is now under construction. 1. Discipline Construction
Shenyang Pharmaceutical University provides a variety of disciplines including Medicine, Engineering, Sciences, Economics and Management. 58 programs are entitled to the conferment of master’s degrees (with another 4 professional degree conferring entitlements) and 21 programs are entitled to the conferment of doctoral degrees. Besides, the university has two post-doctoral research stations, Pharmacy and Traditional Chinese Pharmacy. According to ESI 2016, the university ranks in the world’s top 0.312%. Three disciplines ranked in the world’s top 1%, among which Pharmacology and Toxicology wins the most distinguished top 0.117%, Chemistry top 0.731% and Clinical Medicine top 0.985%. In addition, it has established two national training bases, namely Basic Science Research and Teaching Personnel Training Base and National Life Science and Technology Training Base, bringing up thousands of talented people.
2. Outstanding Faculty
Shenyang Pharmaceutical University is proud of its outstanding faculty, including 114 professors. The faculty has won various titles and awards: one member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one distinguished professor of “Chang Jiang Scholars Program”, one winner of national “Recruitment Program of Global Experts(1,000 Talent Plan) ”, one member of the national disciplinary review group of Pharmacy, 3 winners of “New Century National Thousand Talents Project”, 9 winners of “Special Government Allowance”, 1 National teaching expert, 18 Provincial teaching experts.
3. Academic facilities and scientific research
Shenyang Pharmaceutical University is known for its strong academic atmosphere and in-depth scientific research. The university has founded a national platform, 8 ministry-level key labs and 25 province-level key labs and one province-level innovative platform. Ever since the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, it has undertaken 945 projects of all levels, has been endowed with 426 million Yuan, has carried out 1,733 cooperation projects with the enterprises and was once the winner of National Science and Technology Progress Award. The researchers have attained 475 national patents and 14 international patents. 26 new drugs have been approved for clinical research and 13 new drugs have been certified. The university has published 3,982 research papers indexed by SCI, ranking top among all Chinese pharmaceutical universities.
4. Affiliated Hospital
Shenyang Pharmaceutical University Hospital is founded in 1931.It has modern medical equipment and high-end medical technology with elegant environment, convenient transportation, outstanding departments and high-quality services.
The hospital’s key department is psychiatry. It has many professional psychiatrists, forming the most authoritative expert team in east China. It also took the lead in introducing advanced psychiatric diagnosis and treatment equipment, and gradually formed a theme that “traditional Chinese medicine treatment is the first, advanced equipment is the second”.
5. International Communication and Cooperation
