At present, there are 95 international students from many countries and regions studying for degree programs at South-Central University for Nationalities. The International Education College organizes various activities to provide a platform for international students to know more about Chinese culture.
A series of activities have enhanced students’ senses of belonging to the school such as the opening ceremony for freshmen, the welcome party, the sports meeting and the New Year party, etc. which enabled them to blend in the big family, and helped them stably go through the transitional period of studying aboard. Other activities like visiting the Museum of Ethnology, appreciating the Great Song Performances of Dong Minority and going to southeast of Guizhou Province for a field visit with the purpose of allowing foreign students to know better about the splendid ethnic culture of China; the International Education College made full use of all the resources to set a good communication environment for foreign students, offering opportunities to enjoy Italian singers’ concerts and American piano recital; meanwhile, contests such as “Wonderful Dances and Chinese Songs”. “Staying in China” and “The Chinese Bridge” are organized for foreign students to show their talents and skills, and to provide a stage for their further development.
