Southwest Jiaotong University President Scholarship
Southwest Jiaotong University President Scholarship for international students was established in 2012. It is aimed at encouraging international students to undertake studies in Southwest Jiaotong University.
1. Applicant Criteria and Eligibility
1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2) The scholarship opens to bachelor, master, doctoral degree students and one year Chinese language Students
3) Applicants shall abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, comply with all rules and regulations of Southwest Jiaotong University, respect the social system, religious customs and living habits of different countries, love peace and maintain friendly relationships with people from different countries.
4) Applicants’ studies are not sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarships.
5) Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for master’s degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
2. Types of the Scholarship
(1). Postgraduate scholarship (for Master’s or Ph.D. students)
(2). Undergraduate scholarship (for Undergraduate or general visiting students, Chinese language students)
3. Required Application Documents
(1). Application Form;
(2). Scan copy of notarized highest diploma;
(3). Scan copy of transcript for the highest degree;
(4). Scan copy of letters of recommendation by two professors(for master and doctoral students);
(5). Scan copy of detailed study plan.
Sister Cities of Chengdu City Scholarship
The Scholarship is provided by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to support the study and living of international students from international Sister Cities who receive degree/diploma education or non-degree programs for more than three months in Chengdu. The applicants shall be enrolled by higher education institutions in Chengdu and meet the following requirements:
a. Non-Chinese citizen;
b. Born in, study, work or live in the Sister Cities of Chengdu City and hold the confirmation letters issued by related government departments of Sister Cities (in change of international affairs).
Scholarship applicants should meet the following basic requirements:
1). Scholarship applicants should be citizens from the Sister Cities with foreign nationalities, friendly to China and in good shape.
2). Scholarship applicants should abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese governments and have good performance, meeting the admission requirements of the school that he or she has applied for.
3). Students who apply for a diploma or a bachelor’s degree should have a certificate that is equivalent to the certificate graduating from high schools in China; students who apply for the master’s degree should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; students who apply for a doctorate should have a master’s degree or equivalent.
4). Scholarship applicants who would accept the non-degree education in higher education institutions in Chengdu, the term of which should last not less than three months.
5). Scholarship applicants should have the right attitude to study, without breaking school rules and disciplines and having good academic performance.
6). International students who have been awarded the Government Scholarship for International Students in Sichuan Province are not allowed to apply for the Scholarship.
