Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship
1. Eligibility
(1). Non-Chinese citizen in good health
(2). Meeting Southwest University enrollment requirements between the age of 18 and 40
(3). English proficiency requirements (for non-native applicants of English): IELTS 6.0 or TOFEL (Internet-based) 80
2.Application Documents for English-taught Programs
(1). Application Form
(2). Scan copy of IELTS or net-based TOFEL certificate
(3). Scan copy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners
(4). Scan copy of the previous graduation certificate, degree diploma and academic record. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized copies in English
(5). Two letters of recommendation. Applicants for master’s and doctoral degree programs need to provide two letters of recommendation in English from professors or associate professors with their signatures
(6). No less than 800 word study plan in English by applicants for master’s and doctoral degree programs

Southwest University President Scholarship
1.Scholarship Duration & Annual Assessment
Generally, scholarship holders could get the corresponding scholarship according to their study duration: bachelor's degree students for 4 years, master's degree students 2-3 years and doctoral degree students 3 years.
To maximize the inspirational function of the scholarship and follow relative regulations of the Annual Assessment of Southwest University President Scholarship, there is an annual assessment of the scholarship holder's comprehensive performance during the previous academic year every May to see whether the scholarship holder is qualified enough to continue the scholarship or not.
2.Scholarship Eligibility
(1). Non-Chinese citizen in good health
(2). Education background and age limit
—Applicants for bachelor's degree studies must have graduated from senior high school, under the age of 30.
—Applicants for master's degree studies must have bachelor’s degree, under the age of 35.
— Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree, under the age of 40.
(3). Not sponsored by any other kind of scholarship.
3. Application Documents for English-taught Programs
(1). Application Form
(2). Scan copy of attained highest diploma, graduation certificate or diploma certificate. University students or employed applicants should provide proof of studying or employment. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English
(3). Scan copy of transcripts of the previous academic record. Transcripts in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English
(4). No less than 800 word study or research plan in English
(5). Two recommendation letters in English from professors or associate professors. Recommendation letters should have the signatures of professors or associate professors
(6). Scan copy of IELTS or net-based TOFEL certificate.
(7). Scan copy of published academic papers or other academic achievements if any
(8). Scan copy of recent photos (white background, in passport size). Please write down the applicant’s name and major beside the photo.
(9). Scan copy of the applicant’s passport
(10). Scan copy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner
