Clinical Science of Integrated TCM and Western Medicine of Bachelor Degree has duration of 5 years, the last year is clinical practice and rotation. Internship is of great importance since the practicality of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is compulsory to acquire TCM Medical Bachelor Degree. Internship is also necessary to participate in Chinese Medicine Practitioners Qualification Examination for being a formal TCM doctor after graduation.
Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine owns six affiliated hospitals and 30 teaching hospitals, which serve as important centers for clinical practice. The two teaching hospitals are well equipped with modern facilities and doctors possess great skills in techniques. After 4 years’ study of TCM Basic Theory and Clinical Exercise; international students who apply for TCM Bachelor Degree must finish 1 year internship under the instruction of a TCM professor. After 1 year internship, practical skills will be greatly improved, which will lay the foundation for being a TCM doctor in the future. An examination needs to be passed after 1 year rotation. International students can participate in Chinese Medicine Practitioners Qualification Examination after another 1 year internship in the affiliated hospital of the University. After passing this exam, he or she can become a formal traditional Chinese doctor.
