Brief Introduction
Located in Wuhan, Wuhan Textile University (WTU) is a fascinating and increasingly popular place to study in China. 1. Long History
The history of Wuhan Textile University can be traced back to the establishment of Wuhan Institute of Textile Engineering in 1958. With rapid and continuous growth for nearly 60 years, it has developed into a famous comprehensive university with over 25,000 students including 175 international students. WTU entered the Association of Universities for Textiles in Europe (AUTEX) and the Textile Institute (TI) in 2013. This initiative brings broad and far-reaching opportunities for leadership and success in the promotion of teaching, scientific research, and international exchange.

International Communication and Cooperation
Wuhan Textile University attaches great importance to international cooperation and has established cooperative ties with nearly 50 universities and research institutes across the world. Since 2010, we successfully hosted exciting and influential international activities in the areas of Textiles and Fashion, such as Wuhan International Fashion Week, the International Forum on Modern Textile Science & Technology, and the International Academic Conference on 3D Fabric & Application. In addition, we successfully hosted the 89th Textile Institute World Conference (TIWC) in 2014, which is the highest level conference in the textile area. The development and achievements of WTU are gaining academic and industry attention all over the world.
Wuhan Textile University is actively involved in efforts to strengthen international exchange and cooperation. Wuhan Textile University has established cooperative ties with nearly 50 universities and research institutes from Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, Ukraine, India, etc. We have carried out fruitful cooperation and exchanges in the fields of teaching and research, and dispatched a number of outstanding teachers and students to world renowned universities, such as the University of Manchester, Leeds Trinity University College, University of Derby, University of Southampton, University of California, Davis Campus, Bunka Gakuen University, Mod’Art International, Technical University of Liberec, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology, Ogarev Mordovia State University, ect. WTU remains vigorous in the efforts to establish joint research, teaching, exchange or other cooperative relations that will benefit the faculty and students of both institutions.
In addition to the above joint efforts, WTU actively promotes International Education for the individual. To date, almost 500 international students from 70 countries and regions have studied at our university for short or long-term periods in a variety of disciplines. This initiative offers broad and far-reaching opportunities for leadership development and success in the promotion of teaching, scientific research, and international exchange at all levels of the educational spectrum.
In 2014, WTU was commissioned to cultivate the international students who received a Chinese Government Scholarship, awarded by the Ministry of Education of the PRC.
