In the last year of MBBS, BDS and Pharmacy programs, students are required to have a one- year practical training in either hospitals of their home countries or one of the three affiliated hospitals of Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Medicine. The courses of internship for MBBS are Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Infectious Medicine. During Internship emphasis will be laid on practical “hands-on” experience. The concerned departments will be encouraged to develop a diary / log book which gives detailed tasks / cases to be seen by the interns.
Xi'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine has 3 directly affiliated hospitals opening more than 5000 registered beds and 10 indirectly affiliated hospitals opening approximately 9000 beds to guaranteeing international students’ medical internship and clinical rotation, including the First Affiliated Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital (Northwest Hospital) and Hospital of Stomatology.
