Currently, there are over 50 international students studying undergraduate programs or master degree courses at Xinxiang Medical University. School of International Education was founded in September 2002, whose predecessor is the Foreign Affairs Office shaped in May 1999. In September 2004, the International Students Department changed its name into School of International Education; Foreign Affairs Office renamed to International Exchange Department. There are more than 1000 undergraduates and junior college students, and 8 faculty members.
School of International Education acquired the qualification for foreign student enrollment in 2001. At present, 342 foreign students have graduated from undergraduate course of clinical medicine. There exist two levels: undergraduate and graduate at present, and the foreign students from United States are the first enrollment in North America in the school history. In 2004, School of International Education cooperated with North Umbria University in nursing undergraduate "3 + 1", "3 + 1 + 1" program; In 2011, the school carried out the international program in the field of nursing and medical biotechnology with Worcester University and Australia Edith Cowan University respectively; In 2012, it collaborated with Foundation College of China Scholarship Council for international undergraduate academic recognition (ISEC); In April 2014, approved by Henan province Department of Education, it joined hands with Worcester University for an undergraduate course in the field of medical rehabilitation; and programs with the American College of Broomfield in nursing, medical inspection technology, medical imaging for undergraduate since 2015.
Presently, programs running for international students in English medium include MBBS and many Master’s Degree courses.
School of International Education is endeavoring to realize the goal of the first-class learning institute in Henan province.
