North China Institute of Science and Technology has three Chinese canteens and one Muslim canteen on campus including most of students’ favorite food types like rice, dumplings, traditional dishes, grill and noodles. There are many vegetarian/vegan options, as well as special treats like tart yogurt, gourmet coffee, and delicious pastries and desserts. International students can try every food option. It is often difficult being away from home for the first time and making new friends. As the residential dining centers are conveniently located close to many of the residence halls on campus, they are a natural gathering spot for students to meet, greet, and eat. It is obvious that students who eat and live on campus are more involved, have higher grade point averages. Campus canteens are great social hubs and provide an easy way to make new friends.
