There are thirteen canteens in the three campuses of Xi’an Shiyou University. Those canteens cover a total area of 21029 square meters, and are responsible for the diet of more than 20000 students, more than 5000 employees and family members in the whole school. Each canteen serves nice meals with a lot of variety including Chinese food, fast food, local flavors, cakes and Muslim food to meet the needs of consumers at different levels.
The catering center of the university has been awarded the “Food Management Advanced Unit”, “Advanced Food Department” and other honorary titles for five times by Provincial Education Department, Province Education Union, Province Colleges and Universities Logistics Management Institute and Provincial Communist Youth League. It also has been awarded the “advanced department” by the university logistics group for several years. In 2003, It was rated as the “advanced unit” during the fight against SARS. In 2006, Shaanxi Provincial Cuisine Association and the College Food Council jointly organized cooking competition; the staff of canteens respectively won the silver and bronze prizes. In 2007, the No.2, No.5 and No.6 student canteen was rated as the standard cafeteria by the provincial education department. In 2008, it was rated as advanced Party branch. In 2010, it was voted as advanced department.
