To encourage and financially support excellent international students to study medicine at Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the University has set various scholarships for medical international students every year. To make the MBBS program scholarship in a fair, open and transparent manner, and to encourage international students to study hard and behave in accordance with university regulations and national laws, School of Medicine announces here the measures of MBBS program scholarship management.
Medical School scholarship
Scholarships are only available to the existing full-time MBBS program students.
1. Requirements
(1) Observe the university disciplines and obey the national laws.
(2) Motivated, hard working and excellent academic performance
(3) Respect teachers and classmates, care for collective interests, honest and trustworthy.
(4). Student who received disciplinary sanction in the past academic year is unqualified.
(5). Student whose attendance is less than 70%, and/or who failed in one course in the past academic year are unqualified.
2. Scholarship allocation
(1). Medical School scholarship will be divided in three different scales
First class, Second class and Third class
(2). Zhejiang University scholarship and Medical School scholarship will be equally distributed among the classes.
(3). Student can only be awarded one scholarship a year.
Zhejiang University Scholarship
1. Scholarship Categories and Duration
Master's Degree Students: 2-3 academic years
Doctoral Degree Students: 3-4 academic years
2. Eligibility Requirements
(1). Applicants must meet the requirements prescribed in Doctoral Degree Programs Admission or Master's Degree Programs Admission.
(2). Applicants should have a competitive academic record and display strong scientific research ability.
(3). Applicants may not be beneficiaries of any other scholarships at the time of application.
(4). Education background and age limit:
Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
3. Application Materials
1. Application Form.
2. Form for Provisional Acceptance of International Student by ZJU Professor (if any).
3. Scan copies of notarized highest degree certificates. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English.
4. Scan copy of notarized academic transcripts.
5. Applicants must provide the certificate of TOEFL or IELTS test score. (Not required for English native speakers).
6. A scan copy of passport.
7. Personal statement, in English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal.
8. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in English. (Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.)
9. Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If any)
